If You Give a Tack Ho a Deal
I have been super casually looking for a Thorowgood dressage saddle*. The problem with being 'casually ISO' is that eventually, you find it. Probably for an amazing deal. When you are a Tack Ho predator the thrill of a kill is surpassed only by the thrill of that kill also being a deal.
*I am still totally enamored with my County jump saddle, it fits both of us amazing. A custom Epiphany in brown with patent accents and forward flap is in the cards one day... when I hit the lottery or something.
The problem is, when you give a Tack Ho acookie deal...
...then you have to give hermilk stirrup leathers, because all her stirrup leathers are brown...
... and if you give her a new leathers, you have to give her a girth because all her girths are brown too...
The moral of the story is... never give a Tack Ho a deal.

...but if you've bought her a girth you need to get her a new half pad too because her old half pad is brown and doesn't match either...
... and if you buy a new half pad you'll probably have to throw in a new bonnet to hit some kind of shipping/coupon limit, plus it matches your show coat...
... once you've bought the bonnet you're probably going to have to get her the matching pad...
... but then she'll realize she has the matching leathers, and the girth, and the half pad, and the bonnet, and the regular pad, and all her bridles are brown...
... so she'll have to look for another deal to get a bridle too.
The moral of the story is... never give a Tack Ho a deal.
omg dying laughing here but all so true :)
ReplyDeletethis actually started because there's an amateur only dressage show up here in the end of august and they have a best dressed award which might now be my personal life mission to win.
Deleteomg lol...that will be great!
DeleteThis is how most of my life goes.
ReplyDeleteHm and I'd probably need a tone on tone black stock too since I'm already spending a bucket of money...
DeleteMy 3rd Stockbubble tie may or may not be on it's way to me as we speak. I don't even like wearing stock ties.
DeleteCan't wait to see Spicy all decked out!
ReplyDeleteno omg I am not going down this road (yet)
DeleteMy favorite posts are watching Tack Hos spiral out of control.
ReplyDeletetruer words were never spoken.

DeleteWoo boy that's a lot of shopping! I have that half pad and I really like it. Hope it works out for you too.
ReplyDeleteomg i feel like I should clarify that I haven't bought everything (yet) and I'm trying SO SO SO hard not to.
DeleteThank you. I knew I wasn't the only one. At least you didn't buy yourself the matching boots yet...
ReplyDeleteactually to be fair I already have beautiful black boots that would look delightful with it... hm +1 for a boatload of tack I don't need...
DeleteI love this. And I love the outfit. I have the same stirrup leathers and I LOVE them.
ReplyDeleteYeah I borrowed a dressage saddle that had those leathers and they were WAY nicer than I anticipated.
DeleteA new saddle is never just the saddle.
ReplyDeletejust like getting a free horse is never a 'deal'
DeleteI'm a tack ho with champagne taste on a beer budget...! You totally need all that stuff so we can live vicariously through you! And I feel like you need a stock tie with a purple edge? Maybe if the black on black is too much? Or get both so you have some choices.
ReplyDeletesee the answer to those questions is almost always 'both'
DeleteWell that got out of hand quickly :D
ReplyDeleteI blame the blogging community. I used to be a simple girl, now I have like 5 bridles. for one horse.
DeleteYAAAASSSSS
ReplyDeleteAhahaha deals are suck a slippery slope. I can't even look at any websites this weekend... because I will buy something I do NOT NEED.
